If there is a treatment that you have tried or want to try and is not listed here, please contact us.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), if severe, can be one of the most debilitating condition a person can have. Although there are many treatments out there to help eliminate or manage the condition majority of the time these treatments are ineffective.

The IBS Experiment aims to provide information on all current treatments available to IBS sufferers and work together with the general public to find those treatments that are most effective. Hopefully we can find the solution together.

About IBS

IBS is a functional bowel disorder, which is most likely to occur after an infection (post-infectious IBS) , a stressful life event, or onset of maturity. There is no cure for IBS, however, there are other treatments available to attempt to relieve symptoms, such as dietary adjustments and natural herbal supplements.

Symptoms can include, abdominal pain, cramping, excess flatulence, constipation, diarrhoea, general and constant discomfort, fatigue, nausea, depression, anxiety, etc.

If you do have the above symptoms it would be advised to go to your doctor and first eliminate all other causes, for example, coeliac disease, fructose malabsorption, infections, inflammatory bowel diseases, etc.
